FAQs
What is coaching?
The ICF (International Coaching Federation) defines coaching as “partnering with clients in a thought-provoking and creative process that inspires them to maximize their personal and professional potential.” So what does that really mean?
We build a relationship together
We explore what makes you you without judgment
It’s not just goal-oriented, though that is definitely something you can use coaching for
I look at you as a whole person with all of the things that play a role in your life
I support you while you make big changes in your life. Support doesn’t mean telling you what to do
I truly believe that you’re the one that has the answers; I’m just guiding you while you do the work
Why do you recommend a 2-3 month coaching relationship?
The short answer? It’s a process. (Oh, you also hate that it’s never “done”? Then stay tuned for my blog, especially Temper Tantrum Tuesdays.)
The real answer is that we’re developing a relationship. It’s very rare to solve a complex problem in one session. And when we’re talking about personal growth and big dreams, it’s complex. The longer-term format allows us to get to know each other and really dig into what’s holding you back. It also allows for time in between sessions which is usually where the real work happens. Some people call it integration; I call it magic!
Why is coaching so expensive?
Coaching is a craft. It’s different for every coach and every client. It is something that provides value, but it’s not necessarily a tangible thing. You’re investing your time, energy, attention and that can feel uncomfortable.
Coaching is also an unregulated industry and is not covered by insurance. If price is a concern, I’d be happy to have a conversation about it. You can also ask me about:
Payment Plans
Discounts for purchasing sessions in packages
Referral Program
What is coaching with you like?
Well, I’m kind of like your fun best friend. I'm going to call you on your bullshit, while also making you laugh. Sometimes we're dealing with some heavy stuff and we have to find a way to make it at least a little bit fun.
I’m new to coaching, do you have any resources?
